Vietnam Product & Destination Update: Jan 2024, Tet Edition

All the latest news from EXO Vietnam for January 2024

The streets of Vietnam are adorned with flowers and lights,  markets are bursting as the country prepares for the biggest celebration and holiday of the year – Tet  (Lunar New Year).

This month we bring you a mix of destination and product updates:

  • Tet Holiday: Our  Vietnam offices will be closed from 9-11 Feb 2024. From Monday 12 Feb, we’ll have teams on stand-by to handle urgent requests on a priority basis. Our offices will fully reopen on Thursday 15 February to action emails and quote requests.
  • New Products: An exploration of the Red River Delta on two wheels and a wellness experience that combines both yoga and plant-based cooking in Hoi An.
  • Updates: Hotel updates, a new luxury train route and improved road connections to Can Tho

From Maeve, Tam, Linh, Trang, Ha and the entire EXO Vietnam team: happy Tet all! We look forward to welcoming the year of The Dragon and more product updates in Feb!

New Experiences

This new experience takes travellers through the rural countryside near Hanoi, interacting with farmers and locals while exploring centuries-old pottery villages. This experience allows us to offer a different area from the popular Half Day Rural Life Hanoi by Bike

A wonderful wellness experience to an off-the-beaten track and authentic area led by an experienced and personable instructor, Ms Dzung. The tour is combined with a plant-based cooking class, a  bicycle ride and a basket boat ‘cruise’ making this a fine new experience for 2024 bookings.

Vietnam Hotel & Resort Updates

The Vietage by Anantara Expands its Journey

The Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi Centre

Doubling down on luxury coastal travel, The Vietage train unveiled its second carriage, connecting Nha Trang and Quy Nhon starting from 15 May 2024. We’re just received the new rates and departure times, so watch this space for our new package to this wonderful region, which will be launched soon

The Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi Centre has officially reopened after two years of renovations and delays. Upgraded from 4 to 5-star with a new swimming pool, restaurants and a 238 sqm ballroom, the hotel is a welcome addition to Hanoi due to its location, style and brand recognition.

Sapa: Topas Riverside Lodge

Topas Riverside Lodge is permanently closed due to the extensive damage from   flash flooding that occurred in September 2023. Unfortunately the damage was so great that the building cannot be repaired.

Hoi An Beach Resort

Following improvements in the erosion situation at Cua Dai beach, Hoi An Beach Resort is off the EXO stop sell list. Competitively pricing compared to other beach resorts, this property is a good choice 3-star property located directly opposite the beach.

Destination News

  • Japanese Bridge: Extended Construction Time

The Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Preservation has informed us that renovation work on the Japanese Bridge will be extended for a couple of months. It is expected to be completed by the end of Q1.

  • My Thuan-Can Tho Expressway

Part of the Eastern North-South Expressway project officially opened to traffic at the end of 2023. This new stretch of expressway shortens the time to travel between Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho City to just under three hours.
